JOB DESCRIPTION

The District Council of Ceduna is located on the far West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. The township of Ceduna is the focal point of the District and has diverse business and industry sectors.

The Manager Infrastructure and Engineering Services is responsible for the effective and efficient development and management of civil infrastructure and engineering services for the region.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, key responsibilities include:

  • Effective management and leadership of the Infrastructure and Engineering Services team
  • Operational and financial management of Council assets and infrastructure
  • Efficient and effective delivery of services
  • Meeting Council's lawful obligations
  • Positively communicate and contribute to the Senior Management Team
  • Ensure Council's WHS plan, WHS standards, injury management plans, policies and procedures are promoted and attained
  • Contribute to the delivery of Council's Strategic Management Plan, Infrastructure and Asset Management Plan, Long Term Financial Plan and Annual Business Plan
  • Ensure effective management of contractors, consultants, and third-party providers
  • Provide timely reports to the CEO and Elected Members

It is essential that you have a current driver's licence and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the management of civil and urban infrastructure and services within a leadership role. Those with relevant experience within the Local Government sector are particularly encouraged to apply. You will be expected to have a proven background in contemporary leadership and the management of teams to deliver and achieve corporate objectives in a cohesive and collaborative manner. Sound competency in the use of Microsoft Office suite will be expected. Some out of hours work will be required to attend Council meetings and community forums as directed by the CEO. Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
