Job Description

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the role of Drill and Blast Engineer will assist with planning, optimisation and monitoring of Drill and Blast activities. This involves producing drill & blast designs for the Technical Services Team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic planning and optimisation of Drill and Blast activities
  • Monitor and report compliance to Drill and Blast Standards
  • Monthly audits of Drill and Blast infrastructure.
  • Projects and continuous improvement
  • End of the month calculation and provide drill and blast data as required to other departments.
  • Monitor powder factors, bulk explosives and consumables usage against budget
About You
  • 3 years engineering experience
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in underground hard rock mining environment
  • Experience in contributing to mining and continuous improvement projects
  • Competent in at least one General Mining Package (eg Vulcan, Datamine or MineSight), in addition to MS Office software including Excel and Project
  • Existing and ongoing Permanent working rights in Australia (Mandatory)

The Operation

Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales. Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and is forecast to produce more than 23,000 tonnes in FY2021.

Tritton is a key employer within the region and a proud supporter of the community. We are a residential mine that allows you to be home each night to either Cobar or Nyngan. Accommodation support is provided as well as company transport from both towns to the operation.
