Are you a Mechatronics Engineer with a background in research and development? We currently have an opportunity in Adelaide for a Mechatronics / Material engineer to join an industry leader. The successful candidate will join an industry leader in development of ground-breaking composite technology for the Defence sector and will work on exciting & high-profile projects.

Applicants should have a proven understanding of solidworks, material engineering and the design of mechatronic systems. In this role you will work within a team environment utilising your proven engineering skills to deliver mechatronic design to enhance capability across the business.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Design, develop, and upgrade various products.
  • Test, design, and validation of products and company equipment.
  • Design products using CAD to meet the requirements of projects specifications.
  • Plan and execute technical investigations and /or detailed analyses to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide technical reports identifying findings, conclusions and proposing recommendations for any investigations.
  • Undertake technical risk assessments, following procedures.
  • Undertake design of Mechanical and Electrical systems, components, special tools, and plant equipment.
  • Review technical documentation including drawings, designs and design changes.
  • Produce engineering specifications and documentation when required.
  • Provide technical certification.

Skills & Experience required;

  • Degree in Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Industry proven design experience.
  • Strong understanding of CAD e.g. Solidworks.
  • Understanding of materials in an engineering environment
  • Understanding design for manufacture.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Writing of Technical specifications.
  • Candidates must be ITAR compliant and hold Australian citizenship
