Thales works on complex Air Traffic Management (ATM) projects across the globe. This is a permanent role within the Air Space Mobility business which comprises of Air Traffic Control & Turnkey Support/Services Segment and the OneSky Australia Program. The OneSky Australia Program is the most complex transformation of Air Traffic Management (ATM) in its aviation history, a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a unified solution to Australia’s future ATM needs.

About Your Role

We are currently looking for an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our team and support the OneSky program which is a huge software-oriented project! This role will provide support activities within the System Safety Program Plan and will develop safety case reports. The role will see the systems safety engineer working closely with other safety engineers on the project, our safety team leader and also working with a variety of highly skilled hardware and software engineers.

How About You?

You are degree qualified in computer science or engineering and bring with you a strong knowledge of engineering processes, technical analysis and safety features of equipment and software. You have experience already working recently as a safety engineer ideally coming from transport, energy, chemical, software or the defence industries.

From a technical perspective your skillset covers Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) & Functional Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (FFMEA). You also have experience with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) using a Fault Tree tool. You have the ability to understand technical information and drawings and also can analyse technical information and problem solve. Any experience with safety standards (EUROCONTROL SAM, DO-278, DO-178) would be highly advantageous!

In addition to this you are able to work autonomously, you are naturally curious and you have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
