Application Security Engineer

Endeavour Group (EDG) is seeking an Application Security Engineer to uplift our application security posture across the organisation. Working towards a potential launch as a publicly listed business this year, our Cyber Security team plays a critical role in protecting the established brands of EDG from attacks whilst increasing reliance to malicious intent. The successful individual will be proactive, self-motivated and able to quickly adapt and achieve outcomes relevant to overall transformation and growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of foundational security controls in CI/CD pipelines by working closely with IT risk and security architecture adding input to overall security strategy and culture
  • Review and assess results from code scans and penetration test, performing manual code review where required
  • Assist in creation and improvement of EDG’s SDLC
  • Design automated security testing tools for efficiency and resolution of vulnerabilities
  • Consult and mentor development teams on application security and risk with real-world scenarios

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Recognised degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated technical background and experience in application security with proficiency in .NET 
  • Sound understanding of DevSecOps, Kubernetes, Azure infrastructure and knowledge of or keen interest in OWASP, Threat Modelling, Checkmarx, Fortify, DAST, SAST
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, static and dynamic code analysis, software composition, runtime application controls and manual secure code reviews
  • Strategic thinker, attuned to trends / future opportunities and ability to present dynamically for a variety of audiences
