About the role

We have a 12 month parental leave contract for a full-time Legal Secretary in our Property Damage and Builders Warranty team. This team specialises in property damage defence and subrogated claims for leading insurers as well as builders warranty litigated claims and recoveries. This role supports a Partner, a Special Counsel, an Associate and a Lawyer.

You will have a varied workload and some of your responsibilities will include:

Drafting and amending correspondence
Preparation and filing of court documents
Transcribing of dictation
Arranging appointments and management of lawyers’ diaries
Preparation of bills
Arrangement of debtor and trust accounts
General administrative duties.

About you

Ideally, you will have previous experience as a legal secretary in litigation of at least three years.

Excellent organisational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to use your own initiative and be proactive.

Previous experience in building & construction, insurance litigation and builders warranty would be viewed as highly advantageous, although not essential. You may be someone with only a few years’ experience looking for your next challenge to develop further into a senior position.
