The Opportunity

This role will be working within the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) NSW Laboratories that are based in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. As the Process Engineer you will operate, maintain and provide training in a range of fabrication processes and equipment within the ANFF-NSW laboratories, with special emphasis on nanofabrication and electron beam lithography.

  • Salary, Level 7/8: $97,381 to $122,649 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed term contract – 24 months
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience

Level 7:

  • Relevant Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in semiconducting processing.
  • Demonstrated experience in electron beam lithography.
  • Demonstrated experience with Raith electron beam lithography systems and software would be advantageous.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Level 8 (in addition to the above):

  • Relevant postgraduate degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in semiconductor processing, gained through a combination of specific work experience and/or specific postgraduate research studies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven record of being able to develop and sustain strategic relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in relation to training students and liaising with clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in semiconductor process training of research staff and students.
  • Proven familiarity with clean room operation and practice.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the operation of semiconductor process equipment.
  • Experience in and capacity to implement and oversee stringent WHS regulations associated with the operation of a semiconductor fabrication facility.
