About the Position:

Based in the City Assets branch, this position is responsible for the update of condition assessment plans, specification and procurement of consultancy services, budget preparation, project management of contracts, review, analysis and reporting of asset condition data, review and recommendation of asset data improvements and the organisation and implementation of condition assessment activities for all structural infrastructure assets. This role will also assist with other asset management functions such as revaluations, asset management plans and maintenance specification updates and/or development as required.

Key Deliverables of the position:

The position will coordinate, analyse and report on all assessment works for structural infrastructure assets (eg bridges, platforms, retaining walls) including the following:

  • Plan, organise and manage condition assessment of nominated asset classes including management of the procurement process where required, liaison with relevant maintenance or City Assets officers and organise collation and upload of this data into SAP.
  • Review, analyse and report on asset condition and age data and provide recommendations for renewal, treatments and proposed/actual asset design life.
  • Assist with infrastructure revaluations, including internal review, evaluation of condition data, compliance with corporate guidelines and templates and performing peer reviews within the Asset Management Team when required.
  • Develop and update maintenance specifications in consultation with City Maintenance and Maintenance Planning Processing Officers and ensure alignment with SAP.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Asset Management or the equivalent knowledge.
  • Relevant knowledge and proven experience with the lifecycle management of infrastructure assets, and in particular experience with construction, maintenance or repair of structural infrastructure assets.
  • Relevant knowledge and proven experience with development, update and implementation of condition assessment plans and program.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing conflict resolution and resilience.
  • Effective analytical and investigative skills with the ability to initiate, formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate strategies, policies, techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports, project plans, Council submissions and letters.
  • A high level of motivation and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • It would be desirable to be an RPEQ for structural assets but not essential.
