Due to the development of a new team, our client is seeking to fill a key leadership role within their Network Strategy & Non-network Solutions Division that will be responsible for strategic and operational projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the organisation’s vision arising from distributed energy resource integration (DERs) and technology implications, DSO/DERMS development, electric vehicles, storage and system support opportunities, remote area power supplies (RAPS)/stand-alone power supplies (SAPS), microgrids, community energy projects and other relevant technologies;

· Defining and pursuing edge of grid opportunities;

· Engaging with community energy groups across the network;

  • Develop Strategic Network Management Plans that anticipate disruption and design proportionate and timely investment responses to help shape the overall network vision;
  • Manage the delivery of projects/programs and services including managing internal and sub-contract resources;
  • Management of contract processes associated with projects/programs;
  • Reporting on project performance including actions to ensure objectives and targets are achieved;
  • Financial management including specific cost control, variation management, accurate month end reporting and project forecasting;
  • Implementation of risk management initiatives to identify, manage and control project related issues;
  • Build relationships with key external industry stakeholders including governments, other DNSPs, ENA, ARENA, AEMO, C4NET, customer groups, and other industry participants;
  • Ensuring the performance and governance of the projects and programs of works is regularly reviewed and updated to align with the Network Solutions and Non-Network Solutions and business unit strategy.
  • Develop and promote distribution business initiatives and positions to positively influence selected government and industry policies, programs, and rule / legislation changes, working as an integrated team with other company divisions.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, asset management, commercial or related disciplines;
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business management or leadership will be well regarded;
  • Knowledge of the electricity industry, across technical, commercial and market operation;
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills to assess strategy, tactics and plans to achieve outcomes;
  • Highly developed commercial and strategic decision-making skills;
  • Experience developing strategic plans and initiatives in an energy sector context; and
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
