Primary objective

Provision of maintenance services to the NTPFES light vehicle/marine fleet under the direction of a qualified


Context statement

The successful applicant will have current experience in assisting tradesmen with maintenance in a large mixed

fleet of service vehicles.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Conduct servicing activities on PFES light vehicles, trailers and marine equipment.

2. Assist tradesmen in complex or heavy maintenance activities.

3. Conduct commissioning and decommissioning activities on agency assets

4. Other tasks as directed by the Workshop Manager or Workshop Foreman.

Selection criteria


1. A Certificate I in Automotive Technology or extensive current experience as a tradesman’s assistant in a

vehicle or marine related field.

2. Ability to communicate the outcomes of testing results, utilising the resources of computer aided and

technological test equipment.

3. Appropriate interpersonal, communication and organisation skills, which results in effective team


4. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.

5. Understanding of the principles of Equity and Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.


1. A current Northern Territory “HR” drivers licence or ability to obtain a “HR” drivers licence upon
