Head Quartered in the US (West Coast) and with over 20 offices Worldwide, this NYSE listed Technology firm have won a number of awards, not only for their high performance and market leading software, but also for their work environment, office culture, staff retention and rewards packages. Having recently embarked on a second series of localised growth, they are in the process of bolstering their IT functions as they look to replicate some of the successes they have seen in other locations around the World.

THE ROLE
Being a Site Reliability Engineer, you will have exposure to the entire tech stack. You will monitor the capacity of the worldwide data systems, looking to continually improve their capacity. You will work with a local development team as well as product owners to advocate operational improvements across the stack whilst also coordinating and automating regular software deployments. You will be expected to investigate and fix application performance issues as well as production issues in cloud and hosted environments, including both hardware and internal software issues. You will also have the opportunity to design and build features which will allow the team to improve system scalability.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrable experience working in an Ops role (DevOps, Sys-Admin, Site Reliability Engineer)
  • Hands-on skills with Config Management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS or physical datacentre infrastructure (hardware load balancers, imaging systems, out of band management, DNS).
  • Coding skills in at least one language (C#/Python/Java)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Experience managing a hybrid Linux/Windows environment
  • Exposure to Agile Methodologies and Rapid Development Cycles
  • A desire to seek out and eradicate needless complexity and/or performance bottlenecks
  • Database management experience (Preferred)
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, and/or Docker advantageous
  • ITIL knowledge is a big plus, specifically Incident/Problem/Change Management
