We are currently recruiting for a Proposals & Estimations Coordinator to join the Pinkenba team. In this role you will provide high level support to the Sales team on the estimating, preparation of proposals/ quotations and quotation follow-up of all sales enquiries using a full life-cycle approach to all products, projects and services. The overall aim of the team and position is to support profitable growth in Mining & Cement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare “Request for Quote” documents with a clearly defined scope and execution strategy
  • Determine material requirements, quantities and estimate complete with costings of all items
  • Analyse client specifications, descriptions and/or drawings to ensure client specifics are included in the cost estimate
  • Liaise with sales force to identify final specification of items to be estimated and quoted
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing/quotes for items to be purchased
  • Log all enquiries/quotes on Bid Sign Off Sales Portal database;
  • Preparation and writing of proposals for all FLSmidth equipment / sales estimated with a clearly defined scope and execution strategy
  • Implement proposal development and involve FLSmidth product specialists as required for high risk/complexity projects in consultation with relevant management
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain effective communication at all levels

What You Bring
  • Tertiary qualification (Advanced Diploma) in either a mechanical, electrical or process discipline
  • 3-5 years proven working experience preferably within the mining/mining services industry
  • Ability to read and understand Mechanical, Electrical and Civil/Structural type specifications, drawings and concepts
  • Understanding of INCOTERMS 2020
  • Excellent mathematical ability to analyse and calculate square meterage and volumes
  • Sound understanding of project management principles (Scope, quality, budget and schedule)
  • Sound computer and software experience with Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of CAD systems and experience utilising ERP database systems i.e. Pronto, SAP or similar systems.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate at different levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Highly developed organisation, multitasking, time management and prioritising skills.
