JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role
As the DevOps Engineer, you will develop products and services using modern software delivery practices and techniques. Solutions delivered will empower digital development teams across the enterprise to create and innovate at scale, enabling our colleagues to deliver products and features securely, reliably, continuously, and autonomously.
This is an exciting opportunity and to be successful in this role, you will be a true technologist, firmly rooted in DevOps culture, with a strong Linux base.



What you'll do:
A day in the role looks something like this….

  • Discovering, automating, supporting, and monitoring IT processes, applications, and infrastructure.
  • You will build and run deployment with an eye to flexibility, best practices, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Work across multiple technology stacks and cloud technologies
  • Cultivate practices and guidance which will ensure teams are well architected & in alignment with our guiding principles.
  • You will champion new improvements, experimentation, products, and tolls and will coach, guide and contribute to colleague's professional development.



What you can bring to the role:

  • Strong learning capability; an experimenter, a researcher enthusiastic about technology and automation.
  • Linux scripting and knowledge of modern containerisation concepts (e.g. Docker).
  • Understanding of distributed systems (particularly microservice architecture).
  • Strong experience in CI/CD, observability, and monitoring methods.
  • Strong experience in languages like Python or Java.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience with GCP.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
