As an EL2 Engineering Executive in the Land Domain of Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, you will be given the unique opportunity to lead an engineering and technical team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.

The Land Engineering Agency (LEA) is structured into six Directorates to provide direct engineering support to Systems Program Offices (SPOs) through Engineering Professionals located within Land Domain Branches. Specialised engineering services are provided from a centralised bureau comprising the Directorate of Systems Engineering and Integration (DSEI) and the Directorate of Prototype & Test Services (DPTS). Through a network of engineers and technical officers, LEA supports SPOs of the CASG to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in‐service support of materiel, offering services in engineering; testing and evaluation; design and development; and technical data management.

Your responsibilities will require you to exercise assigned Technical Regulatory Authority delegations, apply your engineering expertise and experience, leadership and management skills across a wide range of activities to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in-service support of land materiel.

LEA achieves this through the application of specialist and systems engineering expertise to ensure the soldier is delivered equipment that is safe to operate, fit for purpose and meets environmental regulations. In this position you will have responsibility for up to 100 engineering staff and will provide engineering guidance and leadership across a Branch within Land Systems Division.

Land military equipment and systems may consist of but not limited to: vehicle and armoured vehicle systems, soldier protection, weapons, biomedical, communications, simulation, power generation as well as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear systems.

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.
