About the Role:

The Digital Engineering Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for quality assurance within the LiDAR analytics team to support the development of the Network's digital twin of overhead powerlines. The purpose of the QA Lead role is to:

  • Establish and improve QA processes, ensuring that the solution is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Ensure product aligns with network engineering design principles and meets relevant engineering quality standards.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, benchmarking against industry best practices and developing tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Lead and manage a small team of casual contracted quality analysts.
  • Reporting of defects and leading in their rectification
  • Manage and report on quality assurance processes, capabilities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as the key business point of contact for all aspects of QA both internally and externally.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop scope and strategy for the QA program to meet business and industry regulations.
  • Lead all QA related activities including the development and improvement of end-to-end QA processes.
  • Identify, assess and execute activities to increase quality and performance of the network digital model.
  • Determining the scope and strategy of testing for new features, changes and ongoing BAU operations.
  • Creation of engineering tests cases that meet the requirements of the product, are efficient to execute and easy to follow.
  • Provide effective and accurate execution of test cases and keen observation of anomalies.
  • Provide engineering advice, detection, recording and reporting of defects found in testing.
  • Ensure formal QA processes, quality controls and measures are maintained in accordance with business and industry standards.

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) - Essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyse significant amounts of information
  • Experience in problem solving through application of combination of Engineering, Software development and Data science approaches
  • Knowledge of Agile software delivery frameworks
  • Knowledge of software CI/CD approach
  • Knowledge of Electricity networks and industry
  • Experience in working with large datasets across multiple systems
  • Experience in a variety of testing efforts
  • Intermediate programming skills (Python)
  • Data analytics using Tableau, Power BI or equivalent
