Pacific People Solutions are pleased to be working with the team at Yamba Welding & Electrical to source a full time Sales & Estimating Manager for their workshop on the beautiful northern beaches of NSW.

For over 45 years Yamba Welding & Electrical (YWE) have forged a reputation as one of Australia’s most trusted partners to law enforcement and maritime organisations. In the past decade, YWE have built over 200 vessels for Australian Federal & State Government agencies including the Australian Defence Force, Australian Border Force and Marine Rescue.

This full-time opportunity will allow you to live and work in Yamba which is located at the mouth of the Clarence River. It is about a 3.5-hour drive from Brisbane with regular flights to Sydney from Ballina, just over an hour away.

To be considered for this opportunity you must have strong financial & commercial acumen as well as the ability to identify new opportunities whilst ensuring a high success rate on team bids. In addition, you will also require:
  • Appropriate trade or tertiary qualifications in Project Management/Engineering (or similar)
  • Previous experience in Sales & Estimating within a boat manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with advanced MS Excel skills and a high level of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to prepare & document accurate cost estimates for RFQ’s, RFT’s, EOI’s, variations and BAFO’s.
  • Experience in pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans to derive accurate costs as well as collecting and following up on quotes from suppliers.
  • Experience in liaising and managing both internal & external stakeholders as well as conducting commercial, risk & profitability reviews.
  • Ability to provide detail tender handover with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery.
