Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who has a passion for technical excellence and is looking to further develop their experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects.

As part of this growing team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in delivering electrical design packages for projects across QLD, Northern NSW and Asia Pacific. You will be involved in electrical engineering works associated with pumping stations and equipment, water and wastewater treatment plants, ventilation, fire protection and HVAC systems. You will be given exposure to projects across all industries including municipal water and wastewater, mining, coal seam gas, and transport!

As a highly experienced member of our team, not only will you work with a range of internal stakeholders, but you will also be given the opportunity to contribute to wider business development activities. You will contribute and lead the preparation of proposals, design schedules, budgets and technical and commercial submissions for bid proposals associated with electrical work for external clients; either as standalone bids or as part of wider project teams, thereby contributing to the ongoing success of our team.

From a technical perspective, as a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Electrical systems design including instrumentation, power distribution, control and communications;
  • Technical studies including modelling and computational analysis;
  • Electrical project cost estimating;
  • Computer aided drafting;
  • Mentoring graduates and less experienced members of our team.


Minimum Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience on municipal water and/or wastewater projects – essential;
  • Experience working within a dynamic consulting and design environment - essential;
  • Experience in industrial electrical, instrument and control systems engineering.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Required);
  • CPEng / RPEQ (or in the process of obtaining);
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Required);
  • Project Management & Quality Management procedures (Desirable).
