About the Opportunity

As the Systems Architect within the JORN Enterprise ICT Team you will be responsible for the technical solution design and implementation to enable the Microsoft Windows Platform & VMWare Virtualisation requirements of the JORN Program.

You will need to be able to understand and balance requirements from different sources in complex environments and translate these into robust systems infrastructure designs.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Architect cohesive Windows systems and Virtualisation solution to meet functional and non-functional infrastructure requirements
  • Create / review architecture design packages
  • Review and approve design packages
  • Ensure proper oversight for quality assurance of artefacts and product delivery
  • Work with the Architecture Lead to understand, contribute and align to product architecture vision, roadmap, integration strategy and delivery
  • Provide forward-thinking consultancy and assistance to various Business Units, in the design, set to work & trouble shooting
  • Work in a team of architects supporting the delivery of new capability whilst working with the teams supporting and maintaining the existing environment

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Relevant qualifications in an engineering or information technology discipline
  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance
  • Substantial previous experience in a Systems Architect role, specifically in the Microsoft technology stream and Virtualisation (VMWare)
  • Demonstrated experience in projects and leading development of architecture
  • Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future proof and open solutions
  • Understanding of systems and the inter-dependency of systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders
  • An ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management.
  • A drive to working with a team to resolve sometime challenging problems
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development and rollout of VMWare Virtualisation Platforms including ESXi/vCenter/vSOM.
  • Microsoft Windows platform experience including Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, MS Exchange 2013/2016, MS SCCM / Microsoft WSUS, Microsoft Directory Services
  • Windows Server and Windows 10 SOE analysis, design, build and deployment
