rhi is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. At rhi we help our clients deliver ambitious and highly technical projects. In this role you will be required to provide Quantity Surveying services to client companies as directed by the rhi Operations Manager and/or Client Project Services personnel. If you are looking to take your career to the next level, this is an exciting time to join the team at rhi.


  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of Preambles, Schedule of Rates and Bills of Quantities
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of modelled BoAQ’s
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the take off of quantities from drawings
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of cost and manhour analysis for benchmarking and productivity assessment
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of ITT/RFP and Contract documents
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) tender/bid analysis
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the provision of advice on contractual claims
  • Providing reasoned advice on the different types of contractual arrangements in use in the industry
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the post-contract administration of contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. in accordance with terms of contract and ensure Client is in compliance with contractual obligations
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the cost control and reporting in accordance with client procedures and guidelines
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts including valuation of works completed
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the administration of Interim Payments to Contractors
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of client proposals
  • Providing reasoned advice and forecasts on costs
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the preparation of estimates at all estimate Classes including reviewing client and 3rd party estimates
  • To Manage (and lead where requested) the Contractor and Company audits
  • Sets a personal example in relation to adherence to rhi / Client Health and Safety requirements, Code of Business Conduct and any other Global Mandatory Procedures and Processes.
  • Leads compliance with rhi Quality Management Systems
  • Able to provide expertise in a QS specialism: expert witness; cost & schedule risk analysis, etc.

About you

  • Degree qualification preferred (ideally having achieved chartered status)
  • Sound experience of quantity surveying and measurement
  • Proven team player and capable of leading and motivating a QS team within rhi's or client’s office
  • Sound IT skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel data manipulation skills
  • Utilise and coach staff in Client applications appropriately as part of service delivery
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to follow structured approach
  • Takes responsibility and leads continuous improvement
  • Ability to drive company policies and procedures and apply to Operations as appropriate
  • Coach and develop other staff members
  • Excellent communication skills, having the ability to sustain close client contact
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Leads change and the implementation of processes
  • Commitment to continuous self-development
