The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Compliance and Enforcement Division in their investigations, file management of compliance case and other ad-hoc duties and undertake simple investigations and to take or recommend appropriate action.

Key outcomes/Accountabilities

The aim of this role is to:

  • Assist in the conduct and actioning of complaints by:
  • Investigating situations, substantiating evidence already collected and identifying and obtaining information relevant to investigations by telephone and written means;
  • Preparing written reports and statements documenting findings and suggesting possible further action;
  • Recording the results of investigations and other important information in qbcc's database; and
  • Using QBCC's computer systems to generate infringement notices for offences.
  • Receiving complaints and analysing and providing information to complainants to provide appropriate customer assistance.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Compliance Officers with their case investigations including the preparation of paper work and co-ordination of cases for legal action/prosecutions.
  • Undertaking simple investigations and take appropriate action or make recommendations.
  • Ad hoc duties as required such as photocopying etc.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.
Candidate attributes * Understand or have the ability to acquire case investigation skills including processing, using, gathering and analysing information.
  • Have the ability to apply, interpret, provide advice on, and implement legislation and policy in the Building Industry.
  • Have a sound knowledge of communication techniques and the ability to achieve work outcomes and understand customer service developments.
  • Have the ability to achieve team goals through participation as an effective member of the team.
