To continue our success, we are looking for a Controls Engineer who will act as the primary point of reference and support for all control systems related issues on site, ensuring effective plant and equipment efficiency by developing and implementing strategies, processes and completing specific projects that advance the site’s automated control systems and provide effective coaching and support to the site maintenance and production teams while ensuring the relevant SOP’s and technical information are available.

You Will Be

  • Able to evaluate, plan, co-ordinate and implement systems projects managing to budget and schedule
  • Capable of improving plant capability, safety, and reliability by resolving operational issues and improving proactive maintenance systems
  • Developing the site’s control systems capability through training, coaching, and mentoring of the site’s electrical personnel in controls technology
  • Undertaking all duties in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures and support continual improvement in environmental systems and performance as outlined in annual plans.
  • Providing Electrical engineering/control system expertise to all departments as required
  • Supporting capital related projects from a controls perspective, ensuring system as installed meet site standards.
  • Supporting shift electrical trades with fault finding and timely resolution to maximise plant uptime.

You Will Have

  • 3 to 5 years providing control system and/or electrical engineering support in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to root cause analysis processes and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Electrical Engineering qualifications relating to control system theory and application, preferably at degree level
  • Formal training in Allen Bradley PLC and PanelView programming
  • Knowledge in Windows Server and MS SQL Server management & Wonderware software
  • Highly developed problem troubleshooting skills
  • Well-developed PC skills, desirably with exposure to AutoCAD, Microsoft applications and SAP
  • Effective people management and leadership skills
