What will you do?

In this position you will join our Queensland Transport, Land and Water Business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of Dam Projects - from business cases, dam safety reviews, comprehensive risk assessments and engineering design and construction support of earth, rockfill and concrete dams.

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart.

You will play an integral part in our growing dams team and be responsible for delivering work involving design and construction support for new dams/ safety upgrades, maintenance, surveillance, safety reviews and risk assessments for our local and inter-state clients in the Water and Energy sectors.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’:

  • use your experience in dams engineering activities over the full life cycle of dams, from feasibility, concept design, detailed design, construction, operation and closure/ decommissioning
  • help to prepare proposals and manage project delivery
  • develop and implement dam safety management activities including surveillance inspections, monitoring and risk assessments
  • an understanding of hydrology, hydraulics and structural & seepage analyses of various dam types

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • The drive to contribute to a growing and self-sustaining dams business by producing high quality and innovative design and construction support work
  • Proven technical engineering and analytical skills in dams and ideally civil aspects of hydropower projects
  • Chartered or eligible for Professional Engineer Australia status and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland status
  • Some exposure to dam construction activities
  • A good civil or geotechnical bachelors or masters degree in civil or geotechnical engineering with additional skills in structural and hydraulic engineering.
