Your new company
You will be working within local Government in the Transport and Infrastructure department, the purpose of this this position will be to raise the level of electrical standards governance, including technical capability and effective management of electrical assets across.

Your new role
Your new roles responsibilities will include the following;

  • Develop and project manage implementation of a Project Management Plan for implementing enhanced electrical standards governance arrangements
  • Provide technical electrical engineering authority for the organisation
  • Oversee electrical design management process
  • Coordinate the operation of the Electrical Standards Authority
  • Specify, approve and maintain city wide
  • electrical engineering, design standards and specification including relevant sections of the Land Development Guideline
  • electrical installation specifications
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and legislative compliance requirements for electrical assets
  • Provide leadership for formal asset life cycle management across city electrical assets
  • Provide technical engineering authorisation for management of change
  • Endorse city side electrical asset integrity plans and specify inspection, test and maintenance programs for electrical assets, including specifying required competencies for personnel performing these functions
  • Undertake assurance (ie monitoring) of electrical inspection, test and maintenance programs/activities managed by asset custodians eg spot audits, etc.
  • Participate in investigations relating to electrical safety
  • Provide input electrical safety risk assessments and the control of electrical safety risk/s
  • Provide technical input on control of work processes, including electrical safe systems of work
  • Direct other staff in relation to electrical works eg 'Stop Work', electrical installations etc (As required)
  • Ensure effective processes for electrical safety in design
  • Review electrical design governance
  • Approve electrical engineering standards and plans
  • Provide input to electrical engineering assessments, analysis or investigations
  • Develop and implement an auditing program of electrical inspection, test and maintenance programs/activities managed by Asset Managers
  • Raise awareness and advise directorate personnel on electrical engineering matters
  • Communicate and consult with stakeholders with respect to electrical assets
  • Liaise with the Qld Electrical Safety Office and relevant industry bodies

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role you will be RPEQ qualified with an Electrical Engineering Degree.
In addition to this you will have worked in a similar role.
