Reliability Engineer - NPI

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

The primary role of the Reliability Engineer, NPI & water is to identify, report on, and manage FMG NPI & water asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This role covers three main areas: Loss Elimination, Risk Management and Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM).

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver long term reliability improvement projects aimed at optimizing of the reliability and costs of the NPI & water assets
  • Develop capital plans / justification to enable the NPI asset execution of projects etc. with replacement and / or sustaining CAPEX.
  • Lead failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify components posing excessive failure risks and implement maintenance strategy changes to address the identified causes of these failures.
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  • Analyse equipment OEE data to identify improvement opportunities and generate actions aimed at addressing equipment failures.
  • Produce accurate reports of asset performance for publication across the business.
  • Facilitate trials of new equipment and products in the relevant operations to strive for better value.
  • Support the Major Projects & Operational Projects teams for vendor identification, equipment selection, strategy development and commissioning. This includes providing the maintenance strategy support to the Operational Readiness teams
Qualifications and skills required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or equivalent (Trade + additional qualifications)
  • Knowledge of NPI (camps, water distribution etc.) related assets, their failure modes and how to best apply maintenance strategies to safely achieve reliability at optimum costs.
  • Ability to develop and optimise maintenance strategies NPI related assets based on FMEA, RCM and RCA principles.
  • A knowledge of Energy related assets, their failure modes & how to best apply maintenance strategies to safely achieve reliability at optimum costs.
  • Experience leading Root Cause Analysis and defect elimination activities
