alkimi studio is an award-winning multidisciplinary design consultancy. We are currently working on a range of exciting projects across the commercial, hospitality, and residential sectors and are excited to welcome another talented designer to our team.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate designer to join our team and to help us deliver incredible projects for our clients. In this mid-level role, you will support our Senior Interior Designers & Director on large projects, with the opportunity to lead smaller projects from start-to-finish.

Day-to-day, you will be exposed to all aspects of interior design, from project inception to completion. You will work closely with internal & external project teams to deliver exceptional spaces.


Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards all phases of design projects, including client briefing, concept design, sketch planning, design development, documentation, and on-site construction services.
  • Facilitate & participate in client briefings, workshops and presentations.
  • Prepare documentation packages.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate designs to stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with various project stakeholders, including project managers, construction partners, suppliers, and clients.
  • Coordinate smaller projects and work as part of a team on larger projects
  • You must be able produce complete design packages including conceptual & detailed design packages, technical documentation for tender and construction purposes and scheduling of FF&E and more.
  • Coordination with external consultants
  • Seek and maintain industry knowledge


To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A genuine passion for design and the built environment.
  • 3-5 years experience as an interior designer.
  • A relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • A proven track record of creative concept development.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Client management experience & strong communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage own work & work autonomously
  • Proven knowledge & application of relevant building codes
  • Presentation experience
  • Passion for sustainable design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and the Microsoft Office suite. Revit and sketch-up experience is also desirable.
  • Proven ability in the lost art of sketching & drawing by hand.
