We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to be based in Port Melbourne to support our manufacturing business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager Environmental, Health and Safety, you will be responsible for managing a team of EHS Specialists and to lead the design and delivery of Workplace Health, Safety (WHS) and Risk strategies, procedures, processes and systems. A key part of the role will be continuing to develop a positive safety culture on the site and to lead and to provide strategic and regulatory advice to the on-site leadership team.

In executing this role, you will:
Develop and implement operational EHS management plans aligned to project/department and organisational objectives;
Convey organisational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project and business EHS goals, communications will include local senior leadership team and US executives; and
Coach, counsel, mentor and provide development opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.

You will need to have:
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or any technical field;
7+ years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS);
Demonstrated experience managing teams;
Proven experience managing environment, industrial hygiene and occupational safety programs;
Excellent communication skills, able to work across organizational boundaries and build cross-functional partnerships;
Ability to accomplish results through engaging and developing employees with a range of skills, authority and expertise ;
Experience with OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 14001 and
Experience with implementing lean manufacturing principles
