The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trades Assistant to join our team based in Forrestdale. In this position, you will play a crucial role assisting Fitters in the remanufacturing of key components across the Hitachi product range. This role will give an experienced Trades Assistant exposure to OEM training and benefits and an opportunity to build on existing skills. Main responsibilities include:

  • Clean and Repair Reman components as per procedures
  • Disassemble components in line with procedures when required
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy when carrying out final QA inspections and pack units when ready for dispatch
  • Assist in store control including receiving and dispatch of Reman items
  • Forklift operation
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment

As a professional Trades Assistant you will have a strong safety focus and abide by site safety processes at all times. You will also:

  • Be mechanically minded with a willingness to learn
  • Have an understanding of Mining, Earthmoving and/or Construction equipment
  • Have the ability to recognise basic product quality deviations/faults
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts and overtime when required
  • Forklift License, dogging ticket and Spray painting experience will be advantageous
