About the Opportunity

This autonomous, part time role (0.8FTE) is responsible to lead our onsite workplace health and safety service, providing guidance and leadership in workplace safety matters. Reporting to the CEO, this position is accountable for leading the WHS service and driving the workplace safety agenda for our hospital through:

Providing advice to management and employees on WHS & RTW
Actively building relationships
Coordinate our RTW program

Founded in 1909, St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital has grown to be a 175 acute and rehabilitation hospital with 8 operating theatres, Maternity Services and an Emergency Department. With its 110 year history, St Andrew’s maintains a steady focus on growing our service offering to the local community and providing excellence in patient-centred care.

About You

You will be a qualified, experienced and contemporary WHS professional with RTW experience. You will be excellent in conducting workplace investigations, have excellent communication skills and have a focus on continuous improvement of WHS and RTW procedures.

To be successful, you will:
Hold relevant workplace health & safety tertiary qualifications (essential)
Have experience in RTW coordination, ideally in Comcare setting (desirable)
Have relatable experience in private healthcare (desirable)
Enjoy building positive workplace relationships with managers and employees
Demonstrable influencing skills
Be able to coordinate our team of Hospital Volunteers
