About the role

The Digital Workplace Platform team is part of the Employee & Contact Centre Platforms department responsible for delivering seamless employee and client services experiences by constantly thinking about and evolving new ways of working. The team seeks to transform end user experiences with a focus on empowering business agility, in safety and at velocity by:

  • Adopting a trust-but-verify approach
  • Maintaining advanced governance foundations and guardrails
  • Detecting and resolving issues before they impact end users
  • Standardising through event-driven automation
  • Securing from data-out by assuming a breached state 

Broadly, the Digital Workplace Engineering team provides technical expertise and is responsible for delivering a productive, efficient and secure end user experience. Accordingly, the Engineering team is expected to maintain an advanced understanding of the current state and potential of workplace technologies including an understanding of Azure capabilities for enhancing and automating both the end user experience and operations. This specific role is expected to contribute specialist expertise regarding VDI Solutions using either Citrix or WVD (Windows Virtual Desktop). In addition, the successful candidate would have experience building solutions / automation in Azure and Office 365, including platform security capabilities throughout the cyber kill chain and across identities, devices and information. Additionally, the role is expected to broadly understand platform services in order to contribute to general team service management objectives and deliverables. 

Capabilities & Experience

Experience:

You will need to demonstrate experience planning and implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in either Citrix or WVD.

Developing technical solutions to complex problems, analysing requirements, system and system of system architectures.

Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability, and have extensive technical expertise along with good knowledge of related disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Designing hardware, software and interface solutions for one or more mainstream VDI solutions
  • Provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Support Services
  • Home Directory and Profile Support Services
  • Desktop Software Support Services

Tech skills:

  • Hyper V / VM Ware
  • VDI (Microsoft or Citrix)
  • Windows Clustering
  • Windows Server 2012 and 2019

Current platform technologies include Windows 10, Citrix (potentially moving to WVD), Airwatch, M365 E3 + EMS E5, Azure PaaS (Storage, Log Analytics, Sentinel, Automation, Event Grid, Logic Apps, Key Vault).

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering or other relevant qualifications.
