A rare and exciting opportunity has risen at Allied Pumping for an experienced and enthusiastic Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our Canning Vale team on a full-time basis.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will join part of the Operations Department, reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with the Engineers, Designers, Drafts Team and Project Managers to deliver high level and quality engineering. 

The Electrical and Controls Engineer shall design, implement, and produce fully tested control systems to meet project and customer requirements safely, on time & on budget. You will assist Sales personnel to produce concept proposal designs & estimates as well as assisting Production personnel to deliver fully tested products on time, safely and on budget.

Typical duties will include:

  • Design, implement and produce full tested control systems to meet project and customer requirements safely, on time and on budget.
  • Contribute to Research and Development Projects to identify LEAN procedures, value added engineering and innovation to set Allied Pumps apart from competitors
  • Understanding Technical Documents such as project specifications, datasheets, manuals, process diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams to enable competent selection of pumping, clean and wastewater treatment and water storage systems.
  • Develop and produce Testing and Quality Documentation ensuring they meet Allied Pump and client standards
  • Develop and produce Engineering documentation ensuring all specifications are met to meet client expectations
  • Develop and product Project documentation to assist project managers with Allied Pumps projects

Demonstrate compliance with Allied Pumps policies and procedures, including but not limited to Health and Safety.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in (Control/Electrical Systems) Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully communicate and liaise with people at all levels, both internal and external to Allied Pumps
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to use Initiative and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to understand technical documentation such as datasheets, manuals, pump curves, process diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical single line diagrams and electrical schematics diagrams.
  • Control system Bench testing and Factory Acceptance testing experience
  • Experience in Control System of Pumps and Motors and Control System set-up
  • Electrical Drafting experience
  • PLC Programming experience
  • Experience in HMI Screen development

Software Knowledge Requirements

  • MS Suite (Office, Outlook, Excel, PPT & Word)
  • AutoCAD 2D & 3D
  • Schneider PLC experience
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience
