A local council situated in the inner CBD area has a permanent opportunity for a Project Manager. The municipality celebrates a vibrant and diverse work environment and community and boasts beautiful villages, gardens and beaches.

Your new role
Working in the construction projects and operations team under the direction of the Coordinator, Civil Infrastructure Projects, you’ll:

  • Provide technical and administrative expertise in relation to design, tendering and construction of civil infrastructure and sustainable transport projects, including asset renewal
  • Engage consultants and contractors, prepare estimates, specifications and contract documentation for capital works projects and asset renewal works
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality capital projects on time, within agreed budgets
  • Provide sound advice, support and guidance to the team and to project sponsors and stakeholders regarding project management processes as per EPMO framework and project services processes
  • Carryout contract management and works supervision of capital works projects in compliance with council policies, relevant codes, Australian Standards and industry best practice

What you'll need to succeed
As well as having a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, you’ll have:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of municipal scale civil construction projects predominantly involving roads, drains, transport and sustainability projects, including but not limited to outsourcing and/or “hands-on” design, tendering, construction, contract management and works supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work with project sponsors and stakeholders in a productive and constructive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team
