We have an exciting opportunity to join our Muja power station as a Mechanical Engineering - Balance of Plant on a 12-month maximum term basis. This position will be required to develop, implement and maintain the asset life cycle plans to be developed, implemented and maintained. You will also provide day-to-day engineering and maintenance support for the power station and ensure that all station mechanical and engineering matters are addressed in a consistent, timely, safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective manner.

This role provides technical and engineering direction in the following plant areas; Central water receival plant (CWRF), Waste Water treatment plant (WWTP), Bores including transfer stations, Stage C and D RO plant, Stage C and D water treatment plants, Raw water systems, Potable water systems, Sewerage plant, Chemical storage and dosing plants, Precipitators, Depacs, Motive water, Recycle water, Compressors, Fire systems, Oil traps, Ash disposal systems, fuel oil transfer stations.

We Are Looking For Inspiring People Who Will

  • Ensure compliance with Synergy’s Regulatory Compliance Policy;
  • Ensure customer needs and requirements are aligned with Key Performance indicators;
  • Ensure water treatment plants meet water quality standards required for ultra-pure boiler process operations;
  • Liaise with station laboratory and site chemists delivering engineering and technical direction and support to ensure reliable and safe operation of chemical and water treatment plants;
  • Design, manage and maintain power station system operations through complex asset life cycle plans and strategic maintenance;
  • Identify and initiate short and long-term development (projects) to improve reliability, availability, performance and safety of water treatment plants;
  • Manage major maintenance events (outage), by developing scope of works, outage spares, procure-it activities (contract requirements) and recommissioning activities;
  • Define and support the planning systems for maintenance employees and contractors; and
  • Ensure a safe working environment.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following experience and attributes:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical and/or Process Engineering
  • Experience with power station mechanical engineering maintenance models, policies and procedures;
  • Financial and budgeting skills;
  • Safe working practices and procedures;
  • People, customer and stakeholder management skills; and
  • Generation mechanical primary and secondary plant and their application.
