Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.

Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our Dynamic Earth Solutions group, supporting the Geotechnical team in Melbourne.

Our Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) group forms an integrated core that provides clients with outstanding project execution through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise. From concept to operation, we’re committed to providing traditional services alongside proprietary technologies and innovative thinking to deliver custom, cost-effective solutions.

From studies, analysis, and design to construction supervision and monitoring, our DES group specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modelling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management.

As the successful candidate you will;

  • Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of staff and Contractors under their supervision
  • Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines, designers and project administration
  • Scope, manage and participate in field investigations for projects in Victoria and Australia wide.
  • Interpret field data to develop geotechnical and geological models
  • Prepare both factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Liaison with prospective clients and help scoping projects
  • Manage and prepare new proposals
You will bring to the role;
  • A degree in Civil / Geotechnical engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Demonstrated competency in managing and executing field investigations
  • Willingness to undertake short term assignments out of office
  • Able to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Experience working in the Victorian infrastructure environment
  • Experience in insitu testing and laboratory testing
  • Experience in earthworks, dams, roads and bridge geotechnical engineering
  • Experience in tunneling
  • Experience using packages such as gINT and GeoStudio
  • RPEQ certification will be well regarded
