(80 hrs per fortnight) with ADO 


We are seeking an advanced Handyperson to join our professional Engineering team to provide general maintenance duties, repair and testing at both Horsham and Dimboola campuses of WHCG. This position involves conducting routine testing and maintenance of facilities and plant, including mechanical services equipment, to Australian and State requirements and completing relevant sections of the essential safety measures program in a timely manner. This permanent full time position is available immediately and involves working a rotating roster including afternoon shift, weekends, public holidays and participation in an on-call roster.


Key Selection Criteria include:


Essential:



  • Mature attitude and ability to work unsupervised achieving planned targets

  • Ability to work & communicate effectively within a team environment

  • Experience & demonstrated competency in an industrial or commercial environment, involving mechanical trades such as Fitting & Turning, Welding & Steel Construction, Automotive, Air-conditioning and or several years experience in construction or general maintenance activities

  • Current Drivers licence

  • Literacy and computer skills, sufficient to perform duties of the position

  • Ability to be trained to achieve competency to maintain Unattended Steam Boilers to 3MW capacity

  • Participate in Boiler Rotating Day and afternoon Shift Roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Prepared to work overtime or flexible hours as required

  • Willingness to participate in the “On Call” and afternoon shift Roster after a qualifying period

  • Ability to be trained to achieve a restricted licence to perform Electrical Safety Testing (Test & Tag)

  • Ability to work in a changing environment and demonstrate flexibility and problem solving skills


Desirable:



  • Completed Apprenticeship in a Mechanical, Automotive or Building trade

  • Hold a current Worksafe Licence for High Risk Work

  • Ability to obtain a Medium Rigid endorsement on Drivers Licence

  • Experience with plant maintenance activities in a large organisation
