QinetiQ is a company of scientists and engineers committed to listening, understanding and responding to our customers’ needs. Working alongside world-leading defence scientists in our Integrated Engineering Services division we offer multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients.

As a Graduate Electronic Engineer , you will be involved in a variety of activities, including:


Designing, qualifying and testing systems to meet client requirements, such as defence or DST needs


Translate client requirements into actionable tasking


Analyse technical design work and produce iterations based on findings


Comply with QinetiQ’s Engineering Management Systems at all times as it related to your work


Support the wider team with projects as and when needed


At interview, we will be looking for tertiary qualified graduates to demonstrate:


Extraordinary problem solving skills and ability to think laterally


Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse clients and stakeholders


Professional written and verbal communication skills


Ability to collaborate with a consultative approach


A resilient and innovative mindset, ready to take on and solve real world problems


To be eligible for our 2021 Graduate Development Program you must be due to complete your university degree qualification in Electronic Engineering by the end of 2021, or have completed your degree within the past 12 months, with no more than 12 months’ work experience. You also need to be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance, requiring you to be an Australian citizen. Applications for the QinetiQ Australia Graduate Development Program will close on Sunday May 22nd 2021.


What does our recruitment process look like once applications have closed?


Our applications are open for 1 month. Following this, CVs will be reviewed with phone calls to prospective candidates taking place in early May. If successful, you will be invited to a virtual interview, taking place in late May into early June. Offers for our February 2022 program will be made to successful candidates accordingly.
