Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE).


The Senior Consultant, Work Health and Safety (WHS) works closely with the WHS Manager and the broader WHS team to ensure that TasTAFE employees, students and visitors are operating in a safe environment.

The occupant will provide specialist advice and support to stakeholders on a range of WHS functions in compliance with relevant legislation and TasTAFE policies and procedures, will participate in the conduct of WHS related reviews and investigations and will coordinate the ongoing development and maintenance of a suite of WHS related systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment)
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Desirable Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • WHS Auditor qualifications
  • Investigate WHS Incidents equivalent to BSBWHS505A
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40116
  • Experience in a post-year 10 educational environment.
