About our team

SIMEC Mining, a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW. Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Administration functions and ore processing and shipping facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney.

About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operator - Electrician to join our Pelletising Team. The position reports to the relevant Shift Processing Lead working 12-hour shifts on an even time roster.

Main duties:
Ensuring practical operation of plant equipment including operating process control systems
Demonstrate ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems with use of electrical trade as required.
Provision of technical support for all electrical issues and standardise the plant, equipment, services and systems where practical.
Working in a professional, timely and safe manner following all SIMEC Mining’s standards and procedures.
About your experience

Key criteria:
Electrical trade required
Previous operational experience in a similar role is desirable
Demonstrated knowledge of process systems including ability to operate control systems is desirable
Ability to diagnose and apply fault finding techniques
Willingness to learn new skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
