    About the Opportunity

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Mechanical Draftsperson will work collaboratively with Engineers, Designers and Project Managers to provide a high-level quality of drafting to our product development team on significant projects.

    The Mechanical Draftsperson will produce detailed 3D models of internal products, general arrangement drawings, detailed shop drawings and bill of materials to production; achieving outcomes of the highest quality through compliance with Allied Pumps standards and meeting our client expectations.

    Typical duties will include:

    • Understand Technical Documents such as datasheets, manuals, process diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams to provide compliant design and drawings
    • Develop and produce details 3D models of internal products to Allied Pumps standards ensuring all models are complaint with the relevant standards (Australian Standards, Mine Regulations, Allied Pumps Engineering and Drafting procedure and Client’s Specifications)
    • Produce high level General Arrangement and Fabrication drawings of internal products that are compliant with relevant standards and that meet Client specifications.
    • Ensuring all documentation that is produced is accurate and presented neatly.

    • Demonstrate compliance with Allied Pumps policies and procedures, including but not limited to Health and Safety.

    About You:

    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the same or similar role
    • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully communicate and liaise with people at all levels, both internal and external to Allied Pumps
    • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and prioritise effectively.
    • Previous drafting experience in the production/manufacturing/construction industry
    • Ability to understand technical documentation such as datasheets, manuals, pump curves, process diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical single line diagrams and electrical schematics diagrams.
    • General knowledge / progressive experience in Mechanical designs and drafting
    • Previous experience in process diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams drafting
    • Advanced AutoCAD and/or MicroStation CAD engine training/experience

    Software Knowledge Requirements

    • Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
    • AutoCAD 2D & 3D
    • MicroStation
