The Division

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

The Opportunities

We currently have three Project Engineers opportunities in Dubbo West Region and in Wagga Wagga & Hay South West regions to be a part of an innovative team that delivers for our regional customers and communities. The roles will report to Bridge Works Manager in South West and West region.

The role will assist the Engineering Team in the development and delivery of maintenance and improvement programs of work including monitoring and reporting project progress to ensure the delivery of projects as per the agreed milestones, quality and cost.

These opportunities are based within the Network and Assets branch and within Bridges Facilities unit.

Location requirements

For South West

Applicants who wish to put their preference for South West Region, you will be working with teams based in Wagga Wagga and Hay. We are flexible for you to be based outside Wagga/Hay, however, you must be willing to travel to Wagga Wagga/ Hay on regular basis.

For West

Applicants who wish to put their preference for Dubbo, west region will have to based in Dubbo if successful. Also, the successful applicant will be required to travel to different sites within west region and being away from home on need to need basis.

Some of the key accountabilities will include:

Develop project plans for nominated projects to identify the needs and outcomes to be addressed by the delivery organisation and to negotiate project scope to ensure that agreed project milestones, quality standards and costs are met.

Use your knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road, bridge and other related traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance to develop projects.

Prepare competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality management plans, environmental management plans, and traffic management plans for assigned projects.

Manage a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects

Analyse and interpret asset condition data and other relevant information to develop the current and forward year works programs. Monitor and report on project progress

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • A four-year civil/structural engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications.
  • Current full Australian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Knowledge or experience in the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in bridge and/ or wharf maintenance and construction .
  • Ability in the analysis of information, interpretation of plans, estimating and budgeting.
  • Demonstrate capabilities in terms of people management and leadership

Salary And Benefits

Engineer Level 1 ($94,184- $111,040) to Engineer Level 2 ($116,147- $124,862)
