Who is POMT?

Position Overview 

You will work within the Solution Team collaborating closely with our Engineering and Project Management Teams to provide accurate, engineered designs and supporting documentation for our consultancies, quotes, and tender responses.

You will provide tailored solutions that are both functionally compelling and meet our customer and market requirements. Your key responsibility will be the provision of technically accurate bill of materials (including hardware and labour estimation) as well as input on customised technical and physical designs to suit POMT’s diverse range of solution offerings.

What you will do

  • Support the Consultancy and Solutions Team with technical documentation (e.g. return briefs & proposals) and solution definition stages (bid management)
  • Generate bill of materials (BOM) and associated pre-sales documentation
  • Assist with the preparation of plans, quotations and proposals, including site visits for the Solutions Team
  • Review project documentation
  • Specifications
  • Internal briefing documents 
  • Architectural and services documentation 
  • Provide technical and functional clarifications to address concerns & discrepancies within specifications or client briefing documents
  • Work closely with external consultants & builders where required
  • Be involved in project kick-offs, signoff and be responsible for the hand over to project
  • Work with the Engineering team to develop detailed designs and identify requirements for ‘special engineering’ of custom items and installation solutions 
  • Work with the POMT Product Development team to remain abreast of emerging technologies
  • Be innovative - deliver a design brief within the constraints of cost, time and quality
  • Own the technicalities of the solutions, the team delivers on projects/engineering team
  • Identify ‘special engineering’ of custom items and installation solutions by ensuring that all bases are covered relating to the out of the ordinary/complex solutions
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Maintain and develop existing relationships with vendors and industry bodies

What you will have

  • Extensive understanding of Audio Visual and Workplace Technology and associated design principles
  • Strong understanding of architectural and construction documentation 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong Time Management skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, including both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage information flow between solutions and project teams 
  • Understanding technical language around construction, project management and hardware 
  • Understanding of the fundamentals related to the sales process and cycle
  • Ability to read and understand vast quantities of technical documentation relating to the technical and aesthetic aspects of projects such as 
  • AV specifications/briefs
  • Floorplans
  • Architectural drawings
  • Schematic diagrams
  • Ability to consult with end-users on best practices and solution design
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar role, preferably with a Tier 1 integrator
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering – Electronics, Telecommunications or similar is desirable
  • Existing commercial relationships, both vendor and broader industry is desirable
