Due to the successful awarding of a number of major telecommunications carrier contracts we are looking for a solid SAED Design Engineer to join our team of SAED (Site Acquisition Environment and Design) experts.
The role: 

Reporting to the Regional SAED Manager the SAED Design Engineer will be responsible for the production of mobile telecommunications site designs to client specifications, legislative standards, codes and practices.

This role will lead the design phase and co-ordinate the design interfaces with other disciplines across the business such as; property, town planning, RF, EME, Civil, Structural Engineering, Electrical engineering, third party certifiers, contractors and consultants as needed ensuring that designs are created to the clients requirements and expectations.

More specifically the role will have you….

  • Ensure that all design activities, tasks and results are compliant with legislative requirements including safety in design and other relevant Standards, Regulations and Codes.
  • Ensure compliance in design with the client specifications and contract at all times, with particular regard to the performance of design related activities.
  • Coordinate the overall site design process to the client’s protocols including drawing management and interaction with the client information and management systems.
  • Undertake site design visits and assessments on a range of sites and building structures to assess suitability, and design for telecommunications equipment installation.
  • Critically review design information including redline mark-ups, For-Construction documentation, as built drawings, structural certifications, power audits and subsequent build-ability reviews.
  • Contribute to project meetings, update and forecast of design deliverables and milestones.
  • Ensure the Detailed Design complies with the requirements of clients EME compliance and safe Work Procedures.
  • Support SMEs including Planning and RF Compliance in resolution of non-compliance issues.
  • Compile and prepare all design and handover information for subsequent submission to the client and construction partners, ensure all design documents and supporting information are complete and uploaded in both client and Kordia systems.

The Person

We are targeting candidates with:

  • 3+ years previous experience working as a Design Engineer or Project Engineer on large scale mobile telecommunications projects.
  • 3+ years’ experience within a fast paced mobile deployment project environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in working within Telstra and Optus design guidelines.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ideally degree qualified in Structural/Civil Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrable experience in industry standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Visio & BlueBeam.
  • Legal Right to work in Australia
  • Drivers License
