As a new faculty, it is our priority to develop an Indigenous Strategy to affect long-term change in the educational outcomes of Indigenous students and the intellectual and cultural integrity of Indigenous teaching and research across the faculty.

Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialism will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.

The Construction Management and Property Program in the School of Built Environment is looking for an outstanding teaching and research academic to join our team. The Program offers degrees in Construction Management and Property at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, represents one of the foremost programs for construction management and property research and education in Australia and indeed internationally. The program obtained ratings of four for research that is ‘above world standard’ in the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA).

The role of Professor is expected to provide strategic leadership and make significant contributions to research, teaching, scholarship, creative practice and/or publication and/or exhibition, as well as contribute to the effective functioning of the Faculty.


Specific accountabilities for this role include.

  • Teaching and/or coordinating courses within the Construction, Management and Property program (and where required other programs) with a focus on continued development of existing and new curriculum material as required.
  • Development and delivery of high-quality subject material.
  • Adopt scholarly, inspiring approaches to teaching and learning and act as a mentor to peers.
  • Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work.
  • Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects.
  • Lead collaborative research projects in strategically significant topics including, where appropriate, building research teams/labs/centres and supporting team members to secure external Cat 1-4 research grants, particularly Cat 1 research grants.
  • Establish and nurture international and industry connections to enhance research and teaching and the reputation of the Discipline.
  • Strengthen the engagement of the Discipline through its research outputs to impact on policies and professional practice at a broader level.
  • Make outstanding contributions to the governance inside and outside the Faculty
  • Attendance at departmental and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a number of committees
