About Your Role

Our Benalla site is Australia’s only major manufacturer of ammunitions and munitions components to the Australian Defence Force.

The Production Engineer is a key role within the Australian Munitions technical team and is responsible for supporting all aspects of production including; ensuring the safe and efficient manufacture of quality products, root cause analysis, continuous improvement of production capabilities, processes and practices, and plays an integral part in the communication between technical and operation functions.

The production engineer will also be required to assist with research and development activities, product industrialisation and qualification, as well as bid and opportunity support.

  • Work collaboratively with production teams manufacturing various munitions

  • Proactively lead and/or assist in resolving product quality, or plant reliability issues affecting production

  • Drive and assist continuous improvement activities

  • Driving or actively participating in munitions ammunition product design projects

  • Maintain Technical Data Packs to ensure the most up to date information is used

How About You?

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Material or equivalent) with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing using the MS suite

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment, preferably within Hazardous work areas

  • Experience in to Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • Proven ability to deliver suitable solutions that are safe and meet design or project requirements in timely manner
