In this role, you will lead the Technical and Regulation Building team within the Office of the State Building Surveyor to oversee the research and development of building regulation and provision of technical advice.
Who we are looking for

  • Experience working in a legislative or regulatory environment and/or relevant industry profession
  • Substantial experience in managing teams and coordinating projects and resources including associated budgets
  • Knowledge of the building industry, regulatory framework of current codes, regulations and standards in Victoria or another Australian jurisdiction
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise, negotiate and influence a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Desirable to have registration as a building practitioner, such as a building surveyor, domestic or commercial builder, draftsperson, engineer or architect.
