JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a full time Carpenters with minimum 3 years experience to join the team at Heritage Roofing Group. A good eye for detail and work ethic is a must. The role of leading hand, will be to guide a team of highly experienced Slate workers. 

What we are looking for:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in supervising sub-contractors and trades
  • A clear understanding and appreciation of WHS obligations within the building industry
  • A current NSW driver's license
  • Experience in foundation to fit-out (preferred)
  • Willing to supervise and mentor apprentice carpenters
  • Good trade skills, a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude

Experience:

  • Carpentry: 3 years (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • White Card (Preferred)

Job Duties:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints to understand materials required and installation process
  • Communicating with clients to understand requirements and respond to change orders
  • Cutting, preparing, assembling and installing wood structures
  • Performing other trades (e.g. light electrical, plastic, perspex, metals)
  • Operating light equipment (Bobcats, forklifts, etc.)
  • Repairing existing fittings or structures
  • Managing a team, dividing and assigning tasks as necessary
  • Training apprentices and/or coworkers
  • Identifying and recommending solutions
  • Ensuring adherence to building codes and regulations
  • Ensuring adherence to local job site safety rules and regulations
  • Effectively utilising different types of wood based on adaptability
  • Effectively utilising methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry
