Your new company

Your new company are a state-wide leader in facilities maintenance and have a vibrant culture with nearly 60 employees. Due to growing demand for their services they are have an opportunity for a Landscaper/Grounds Maintenance Gardener to join their Landscaping division. You will be joining a team who are at the cutting edge of current techniques and processes in landscaping - and get to deliver transformational results to their lucky clients.

Your new role

Day to day you will be undertaking maintenance and hard landscaping work. Typical duties will involve irrigation installation, fencing repairs, laying paving, building retaining walls, and doing concrete work largely on residential sites. On the commercial side you will be tasked with maintenance horticultural work such as weeding, mowing, turf replacement, pruning, tree trimming and planting. A standard day is 08:00 – 16:00. You will be working in a team of two or more and could be anything from a day to a week on each site. This role is initially available on a casual basis and will be full-time hours when there is a project, but there may be gaps between projects or due to bad weather.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Landscaping or Horticultural certificate or equivalent
  • Demonstrable employment experience within landscaping or gardening
  • Experience with doing earthworks and construction
  • Able to work within a team but also independently
  • Full manual drivers’ licence
  • Available relevant recent references
  • Be willing to complete the Hays Recruitment online employment documents and inductions that are necessary to become an employee, including an online timesheet each week

What you'll get in return

The pay rate for this role is negotiable based on experience. You will also receive a 9.5% super contribution to a superfund of your choice and a weekly pay cycle.
