The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is shaping the future of multiple air, land and sea platforms which is delivering critical capability for the Australian Defence Force. As part of this capability growth, Boeing Defence Australia is managing the implementation of an upgrade to the security classification of the Wedgetail platform.

Specifically, this opportunity is for a Senior Project Engineer on the Wedgetail Security Classification, Categorisation and Grading (SCCG) Project.

As a Boeing Defence Australia Senior Project Engineer on the SCCG Project you will apply your project engineering experience to plan and execute the project technical scope and to engage effectively across the Boeing team, the Customer organisation and our industry partners.

This role can be based in either Brisbane, Williamtown or Adelaide.


  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure the project engineering scope is delivered within the quality, schedule and budget constraints of the project
  • Develop and support execution against an Engineering Plan
  • Develop Boeing Process Guides for rolling out changes
  • Develop and support rollout of training
  • Act as a customer and stakeholder interface to ensure that engineering and technical requirements are adequately understood and communicate engineering status on project deliverables.
  • Ensure effective deployment of engineering activities and resources
  • Track performance metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a group environment and with people across all organizational levels
  • Detailed understanding of Project Engineering practices and demonstrated experience in applying
  • Detailed understanding of Systems Engineering practices and application
  • Understanding of Configuration Management practice
  • Experience with technical management of aerospace and / or defence projects highly regarded
  • Experience in delivering projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded
  • Experience on the Wedgetail Platform highly desirable
  • Experience with security engineering highly desirable
