There are endless opportunities and no shortage of exciting projects within the food and beverage, oil and gas, mining and metals, forestry and chemicals and manufacturing sectors. You'll join a diverse and talented team delivering creative, innovative solutions in partnership with our clients. Be part of a motivated and trusted team, dedicated to developing and sharing technical innovation to push boundaries and continually challenge and overcome convention and constraints, to transform our world for the better.

We embrace the fact that people are our greatest asset. It’s our people that set us apart, and who our clients keep coming back to. Passionate about what we do and the culture we have developed, we believe that key to our success is the teamwork and collaboration fostered, not only within our Industrial team, but right across the Beca Group.

The Opportunity

Our Industrial group of engineering and project management specialists has demonstrated a commitment to client service excellence, sustained growth and successful project completion. We have an exciting opportunity for a high performing intermediate level Mechanical Engineer to join our Melbourne team. There will be a mixture of site and office-based work so there will be an expectation of regional travel for this role.

This role will see you undertaking small to medium projects from concept, study, estimating, design and execution phases for piping and broader mechanical engineering projects.

You will be working closely with our teams located in New Zealand and Indonesia to delivery piping engineering and design activities, liaising with other disciplines to facilitate a coordinated design.

You will have the opportunity to work in our federated 3D environment and use pipe stressing software such as AutoPIPE to optimise the engineering solution.

About You

You will have a Mechanical engineering degree and professional experience in a similar consulting environment, preferably with plant design and process piping projects. Working toward CPEng status, your experience will be across technical, delivery and client-facing activities and you will have the natural ability to build wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside of the organisation. You’ll take accountability of your work with a track record of on-time and on-budget delivery.

Ultimately this is a key role to join a strong unified team with a culture capable of delivering sustainable growth in reputation, revenue and profitability.
