The Company

SKF is an international company recognised as a specialist in the manufacture and sale of bearings, seals, power transmission, machine condition monitoring equipment and associated products and services. With offices across Australia, it supplies the OEM and mining sectors as well as supporting the industrial aftermarket business through its independent distribution channels to market.

The Role

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Root Cause Failure Analysis for strategic customers in the designated territory.
  • Review service reports completed by local SKF staff and make recommendations before the reports are delivered to customers.
  • Provide customers with high quality predictive and proactive maintenance reports within five (5) working days of on-site data collection.
  • Obtain feedback from customers regarding service delivery and quality and identify potential opportunities to improve the reliability of customer assets.
  • Document work instructions and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for SKF tasks performed at the customer site.
  • Ensure that all projects are quality checked and controlled. This includes but is not limited to factory and site acceptance testing to ensure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine customers’ Asset Maintenance Plan.
  • Utilise predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
  • Maintain equipment and instrumentation in serviceable order and report faults or arrange for equipment repairs as necessary.
  • Implement Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) principles to capture and deliver value to the customer.
  • Ensure reliability and maintainability of SKF equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  • Complete cost-benefit analysis to make decisions such as repair/replace/redesign of company assets/tools/clients assets etc.
  • Conduct Client Needs Analysis (CNA), Lubrication Needs Analysis (LNA), Streamlined Reliability Centred, Maintenance (SRCM) to ascertain the correct maintenance strategy for clients critical assets,

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
  • ISO Level II Certification (Vibration Analysis)
  • At least five years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of SKF technology platforms, including bearings, lubrication systems, machine health products and remanufacturing solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of asset reliability strategy and management with the understanding of how it impacts production outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Strong understanding of the sales excellence and insight selling methodology
  • Strong understanding of the performance-based business models, finance measurements and contract management
  • Advanced Office 365 skills (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive and Power BI)


The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $96,400 per year
