As Aurizon continues to thrive in 2021, we’re currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team supporting the Ballast Cleaning Operations team.

Your new role:

This role can be based in either Rockhampton or Sarina and will provide project management expertise to our infrastructure and asset management projects. This is an exciting opportunity to step into the world of a Project Engineering role.

  • Liaise with clients and their representatives and all stakeholders to develop project plans and scopes, programs, service agreements, risk management plans, cost plans and cash flows to meet the specification and intent of customer requirements.
  • Act in supervisor and leadership roles when needed.
  • Perform risk analysis of all aspects of projects that are relevant at the planning stage to determine the risks to price, commercial conditions, safety, environment and quality and integrate risk management controls into project plans.
  • Undertake inspections for planning, implementation monitoring and finalisation stages.
  • Plan and program of construction and asset management resources to balance workload while meeting client requirements.
  • Monitor the implementation of projects, maintain programs and budgets and coordinate reviews for forecasting and corrective action.
  • Coordinate change management process for scope, pricing, program, and all other relevant aspects to construction projects.
  • Align and introduce quality assurance processes in accordance to regulation requirements.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
  • A current C Class Drivers Licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skillsboth written and verbal along with an ability to communicate across functions.
  • Expert planning skills and autonomous approach to working without direct supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative in the application of professional practices and to take responsibility for project deliverables.
  • Strong commitment to the delivery of high levels of customer service.
  • RPEQ desirable but not necessary.
